How to Add People to Your Favourites

Building your RingCentral Favorites list and reaching our Office group in one action.

Purpose

The short version: Favorites give you one-tap access, behind the star icon on your phone, to the people you call or text most. The how follows below, including the Office group we build our own Favorites list around so you can reach several coworkers at once.

  • A contact needs a phone number on file to be favorited; a guest or a contact with no number attached cannot be added.

Steps

Adding Someone to Favorites

  1. Open the star icon in the RingCentral app, desktop or mobile.
  2. Select the individual or individuals you want to add.
  3. Press Save; they now appear under your Favorites.

Calling or Texting a Favorite

  1. Open your Favorites list.
  2. Tap a saved contact to call or text them directly.
  3. To reach the whole Office group, tap Office instead of dialing each person individually.

Edge Cases / Troubleshooting

A contact will not save as a favorite

Confirm they have a phone number on file in the system first; the app cannot favorite a guest or a contact without a number attached, and that is the most likely reason the save is failing.

What's the fastest way to reach the whole office at once

Tap the Office favorites group instead of dialing Kelly, Jen, Anita, Sarah, and the rest one by one; the group exists specifically so you do not have to.

The Office group does not seem to be reaching everyone

This has not been reconfirmed against the current app version, so if a call to the Office group is not ringing who you expect, let your manager know rather than assuming the problem is on your end.
