Facility Calendars & Run Cards

Purpose

A trainer's day fills up fast between classes, lessons, and time off. Facility Calendars and Run Cards are the two systems that keep that schedule visible to the rest of the team, and keep each dog's care instructions visible to whoever is walking past their enclosure.

At a Glance

Every staff member has a personal calendar in our kennel system, in addition to the Training Board and scheduling system.
Once a time-off request is approved, mark that day and time as unavailable on your calendar right away to avoid a scheduling conflict.
Office staff and each individual both share responsibility for looking ahead at the schedule for potential errors or conflicts.
Run Cards are posted on every indoor and outdoor enclosure and carry each dog's demeanor, potential behavioral issues, and feeding and medication instructions.

Using Facility Calendars

Keep your personal calendar in the kennel system current. It works alongside the Training Board and the scheduling system, not in place of them.
As soon as a time-off request is approved, mark that day and time unavailable on your calendar so no one books over it.
Look ahead at the schedule regularly for potential errors or conflicts. This is a shared responsibility between office staff and each individual, not just one or the other.

Reading Run Cards

Run Cards are posted on each indoor and outdoor enclosure. Check the card for:

Demeanor and potential behavioral issues
Feeding instructions
Medication instructions

How do I request that approved time off is reflected on the calendar?

There's no separate request for this part. Once the time-off request itself is approved, you mark that day and time unavailable on your own calendar in the kennel system so it doesn't create a scheduling conflict.
