Overview of Vaccination Requirements

Due to the large number of dogs we serve each year, we have adopted the strictest vaccination standards for any dog entering our facilities. This policy helps protect against the spread of infectious diseases and ensures a safe and clean environment for all dogs, staff, and pet owners.

Required Vaccinations

All dogs must have up-to-date vaccinations for the following:

  • Bordetella (Canine Cough)
  • Rabies
  • Distemper/Parvovirus (DHPP)

Each vaccination must be administered at least one week before a dog’s visit to our facility to allow time for immunity development.

Key Health and Safety Benefits

Our vaccination and health requirements provide:

  • Protection against common infectious diseases: Regular vaccinations reduce the risk of spreading diseases like Bordetella, which can spread rapidly in shared spaces.
  • A clean, safe environment: Our strict sanitation and vaccination protocols ensure that both dogs and humans can safely enjoy their time at our facility.
  • Reduced spread of infectious symptoms: By enforcing a policy of keeping symptomatic dogs at home, we further reduce the risk of illness within our community.

Vaccination Verification Process

We offer multiple options to verify vaccination status for convenience and accuracy:

  1. Veterinary Verification: We can confirm vaccinations directly with your veterinarian upon request.
  2. Pet Parent Portal Upload: You may upload vaccination records to your Pet Parent Portal for easy access and documentation.
  3. Email Submission: If preferred, you can email vaccination records to our team for manual verification.

Health Guidelines for Recently Rescued or Symptomatic Dogs

To further maintain a healthy environment, we require additional precautions for dogs that are newly rescued or showing any signs of illness.

Guidelines for Recently Rescued Dogs

  • Waiting Period: Dogs recently adopted or rescued must remain at home for at least 30 days before their first visit to our facilities. This waiting period allows the dog to acclimate to its new environment and reduces the risk of any potential health issues that may not yet be visible.

Guidelines for Symptomatic Dogs

  • Symptom-Free Requirement: Dogs exhibiting any signs of infectious illness, such as coughing, sneezing, or digestive issues, must stay home until they are fully symptom-free for a minimum of one week before returning to the facility.

How to Submit Vaccination Records

  • Pet Parent Portal: Log in to the Pet Parent Portal and upload your dog’s vaccination records directly. This option ensures quick verification and secure record storage.
  • Email Submission: Alternatively, you can email vaccination records to our team for verification. If you choose this method, please allow up to 48 hours for processing.
  • Veterinary Clinic Verification: We’re happy to verify vaccination status directly with your veterinary clinic upon request. Please note that we may need your permission to access these records.

Common Questions and Answers

Why does my dog need to be vaccinated a week before their visit?

Vaccinations take time to develop effectiveness, and a minimum one-week period after vaccination ensures the best possible protection against transmissible illnesses.

What if my dog has a medical exemption from a specific vaccine?

If your dog is unable to receive a required vaccine for medical reasons, please contact our Guest Support Team. We may require a letter from your veterinarian and additional health precautions to ensure everyone’s safety.

Can I bring my dog to Partners Dog School immediately after adopting?

To help ensure all dogs are healthy and well-adjusted, we require that newly adopted or rescued dogs stay home for at least 30 days before visiting our facility.

What if my dog becomes symptomatic while attending?

If any dog shows signs of illness while in our care, we will promptly isolate them and contact the owner for immediate pick-up. The dog must remain at home until they have been symptom-free for at least a week before returning.

Where can I find the Staying Healthy Agreement?

The Staying Healthy Agreement is available in your Pet Parent Portal. It outlines all health and safety policies and provides additional resources.
